i moved to the piemonte region of italy in the autumn of 2022 for a master’s of gastronomy in world food cultures and mobility at the university of gastronomic sciences of pollenzo. in my best efforts to reflect while also keeping up with friends and family from home, i began a monthly email. they became sort of an anthology, sort of an ethnography, and a lot of a memory-keeping trick for me. i’ve collected and kept them here.
